The 2026 Wake United Surf + Wake Series is officially underway after a successful opening stop at Champions Lake in Auburndale, Florida, hosted alongside the Nautique WWA Florida State Championships and Masters Wakeboard Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

As the first of four stops across Florida and Georgia, Stop One delivered an exciting weekend of competition, bringing together athletes of all levels—from first-time riders to elite competitors chasing national qualification. The event set the tone for what is expected to be an impactful season for the grassroots series.

With strong community support, competitive divisions across wakeboard and wakesurf, and a high-energy atmosphere on the water, the kickoff stop highlighted exactly what the Wake United Surf + Wake Series is built around: progression, connection, and accessibility for all riders.

The series, a two-time Nautique Dealer Event of the Year winner, continues to serve as a platform for athlete development and community growth within wake sports. Each stop provides opportunities for riders to gain experience, build confidence, and compete in a supportive environment.

“The Wake United Surf + Wake Series is built around confidence, connection and progression,” said Jeff Husby, president and CEO of Wake United. “From first-time competitors to seasoned athletes, this series creates an environment where riders can grow, feel supported and truly enjoy competing.”

Stop One saw strong participation, with more than 45 riders competing in the Nautique WWA Florida State Championships and 23 riders in the Masters LCQ. Scores and highlights from the event are available on the @shopwakeunited Instagram.

Following the success of Stop One, attention now shifts to the remaining events on the 2026 schedule, which continues across Florida and Georgia:

  • Stop 2: May 2–3 – Lake Sinclair, GA (Sinclair Smackdown)
  • Stop 3: May 30–31 – Lake David Park, FL (Thigh High Surf + Wake)
  • Stop 4: Aug. 8–9 – Lake Acworth, GA (Battle By The Beach)

Registration is still open for the remaining stops, and organizers are encouraging riders of all skill levels to join the series and be part of the experience.

“This series is designed to meet riders where they are,” said co-founder Brandon Lee. “Whether it’s someone competing for the first time or an athlete sharpening their skills, Wake United provides a consistent, high-quality competitive experience that helps riders progress.”

With Stop One now complete, momentum is building for the rest of the season—and riders still have plenty of opportunities ahead to compete, improve, and be part of one of the most community-driven series in wake sports.
